The wool used in these creations comes from the Marmoucha breed, known for its
rustic sheep with wool characterized by ivory and golden hues. This rare wool is a
key factor in explaining the value of the carpets produced by the Beni Mrirt tribes.
Natural variations
Since your rug is hand-crafted, it will feature beautiful,
natural variations in both pattern and color. These unique
differences are a hallmark of an authentic, one-of-a-kind
piece made just for you.
Lead Time
Every Beni rug is meticulously handwoven and then washed
and air-dried in the fresh Moroccan Atlas mountain breeze.
While many steps go into creating each rug, it's the washing
process that truly sets it apart. After weaving, each rug is
washed up to ve times and dried in the desert sun, where
the heat and moisture lock in color and soften the wool. This
proprietary process, perfected over three years, creates
durable rugs that will last a lifetime.
